Sony held the PlayStation Meeting in New York City today and made several announcements in regards
to the new PlayStation 4 consoles. The first of them was the confirmation that the new slimmer model of the PS$ will replace the default model when it hits stores. The release of this updated PS4 will be on September 15 and will be sold at a retail price $299, equivalent to the current default PS4 price.
Following that came the official debut of what was previously codenamed PS4 Neo. The PS4 Pro will release on November 10, 2016, in Japan, North America, and Europe at a price of $399 USD, which is equivalent to the PS4’s original starting price.
By boosting the performance and capability of the system architecture, including the CPU and GPU, PS4 Pro allows games to deliver graphics with far more detail and unprecedented visual precision. Users with HDTVs will be able to enjoy all current and future titles with a minimum of 1080p and faster, more stable frame rates for those with 4KTv’s playing compatible games.
The PS4 Pro supports $K video playback for streaming services such as Netflix and Youtube, but will Not have the ability to play 4K Blu-Rays. Sony has stated that the reason for this is that the PS4 Pro is “primarily for gaming” and the users would rather sacrifice entertainment features for gaming features.
Personally, I agree. If entertainment is your primary concern but would still like an upgrade, get yourself a “Slim”. All PS4 systems including the PS4 Pro will support HDR imaging technology, which enables the reproduction of brightness and darkness while realizing a much wider range of colors. Users who own HDR-compatible TVs will be able to enjoy supported games and other entertainment content with “visuals that are more realistic, strikingly vivid and truer to the way the human eye sees the world”
Every PS4 title including those currently available as well as any future releases will run on All PS4 systems including the PS4 Pro. All PS4 systems will employ the same user interface and shares the same online community for multiplayer gaming and network services.

PS4 Slim Specs Comparison to Original PS4 + Release Dates and Prices
The PS4 Slim will coincide with the launch of a new line of DualShock 4 Controllers. The Controllers will also be sold separately for the current price of 60 USD. All Previous Models will still work with all Future Consoles. The Controller will also come with the PS4 Pro’s and will retail separately in the Original Black, Magma Red, and Wave Blue. The new controllers will have an array of new features as well as reworked features. Some of the most noticeable features include a small light strip within the Touchpad so that the players may see the player indicator lights without having to turn over their controllers. With this, the light bars have become smaller presumably for glare reduction and battery savings. Another new feature that will be available on all PS4 models is the ability to use a USB to eliminate Bluetooth lag.
There is also a New PlayStation Camera which is Compatible with PlayStation VR. The Camera is now designed in cylindrical form and still has an adjustable stand. The new Camera will also be compatible with All PS4 models.
There is a new stand only compatible with the new PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro. The stand was made with a translucent material to resemble the “shadow”of the system when placed vertically onto the stand. The stand comes with two attachments to swap usage between Slim and Pro. The stand will cost the standard 20 USD.
The new Platinum Wireless Headset has enhanced, positional 7.1 virtual surround sound from Sony’s 3D audio technology. It also has multi-position hidden, noise-cancelling microphones for a more clear chat and is compatible with mobile devices and the PS VR using a 3.5mm headphone jack. The price will come in at 150 USD
